Directors and composer demand removal of *Phantom Thread* music from Melania Trump documentary, citing contract violations.
Oscar-nominated director Paul Thomas Anderson and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood have demanded the removal of music from their 2017 film *Phantom Thread* used in the documentary *Melania*, which portrays former First Lady Melania Trump.
They claim Universal failed to consult Greenwood before allowing the score’s use, violating his composer agreement, despite him not owning the copyright.
The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner and distributed by Amazon MGM, has earned over $13 million domestically but received largely negative reviews.
Anderson’s new film, *One Battle After Another*, has 13 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and features Greenwood’s score.
Amazon MGM has not commented on the request.
