Indian-Canadian man shot dead in Toronto shopping centre parking lot; investigation ongoing.
A 37-year-old Indian-Canadian IT professional, Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar from Brampton, was fatally shot in a targeted attack at the Woodbine Shopping Centre parking lot in Toronto on February 8, 2026.
Police responded around 3:30 p.m., finding him with life-threatening injuries; he died later at a hospital.
Authorities confirmed the shooting was not random, with surveillance showing a white SUV with bullet holes, but no suspects have been identified.
The victim, originally from Karnataka, India, had recently helped form a Kannada cultural association and was active in the local Indo-Canadian community.
His family, based in Bengaluru, expressed grief and appealed to the Indian government to assist in repatriating his body for cremation.
