Delhi police arrested AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj and others during a candle march for Kamal Dhyani, who died in a DJB-dug pit, while suspending three officials and arresting two contractors.
Delhi Police detained AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj and others on February 8 during a peaceful candle march in Janakpuri to mourn Kamal Dhyani, a 25-year-old who died after falling into an uncovered pit allegedly dug by the Delhi Jal Board.
Bhardwaj claimed police prevented the tribute, seized candles, tore posters, and deleted the accident location, delaying rescue.
On the same day, police arrested Yogesh, a 23-year-old laborer linked to a subcontractor, in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, after he fled the scene.
Subcontractor Rajesh Prajapati was arrested earlier.
Three DJB officials were suspended, and the contractor was booked.
The incident has drawn political criticism over alleged selective enforcement and infrastructure safety.
