Brazilian woman to stand trial in Dublin, accused of running brothels and trafficking 29 women from Brazil.
Bruna da Silveira, a 25-year-old Brazilian woman, is set to stand trial in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on March 26, 2026, accused of earning over €700,000 from brothels in Dublin as part of an international investigation.
She faces charges including money laundering, brothel-keeping, and allegedly recruiting 29 vulnerable women from Brazil into sex work between March 2024 and September 2025.
The case, involving Europol, Brazilian Federal Police, and the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, led to the arrest of da Silveira and three Brazilian men on September 3, 2025.
Authorities allege the group used the Ireland–UK common travel area to bypass immigration checks and coordinated operations via WhatsApp.
Da Silveira, deemed a flight risk, was denied bail and has been granted legal aid.
The trial will proceed after a bail application is heard.
