The Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation has named recipients of the 29th Mahaveer Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations from Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Mizoram, and Odisha for outstanding work in non-violence, vegetarianism, education, medicine, and social service.
Awardees were honored for advancing peace and empowering marginalized communities, each receiving a Rs.
10 lakh cash prize and citation.
Since the awards began, 101 recipients from 26 states and 2 union territories have been recognized.
Nominations for the 30th edition are now open, with a jury led by former Chief Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah evaluating 267 submissions.
