Mia Brookes, a 19-year-old snowboarder from Sandbach, Cheshire, is set to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Big Air and slopestyle, aiming to become the first British athlete to win two medals at the same Games.
A world champion at 16 in 2023, she became the youngest and first British snowboarder to win the title, earning BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year honors.
Introduced to snowboarding at 18 months old at Kidsgrove Ski Centre, she was raised by passionate snowboarding parents and supported by her family, including her late grandfather, a former ski club president.
Brookes balanced training with schooling during family ski trips to the French Alps and recently won gold at the X Games.
Her family and the North Staffs Ski Club, where she began, remain proud, with her signed snowboard on display.
