A woman was killed in a Michigan crash Friday night on a dark, snowy rural road.
A 41-year-old woman from Newport was killed Friday evening in Monroe Township, Michigan, after being struck by a vehicle on South Telegraph Road near East Dunbar Road around 6:30 p.m.
The crash occurred in a rural area with poor visibility due to darkness, light snow, and no streetlights.
Michigan State Police were initially dispatched to the scene for a report of two pedestrians near the roadway but had not located them before the collision, as they had entered a nearby gas station.
Emergency responders attempted resuscitation but could not revive the woman.
The driver, a 43-year-old Monroe woman, was not suspected of intoxication.
The incident remains under investigation.
