U.S. and India agree to cut tariffs on American motorcycles and auto parts, benefiting Harley-Davidson, with tariffs on high-end cars reduced over 10 years.
India and the U.S. have agreed to an interim trade deal that will eliminate import duties on American motorcycles with engines between 800 and 1,600 cc, effective upon implementation in March 2026, benefiting Harley-Davidson.
Tariffs on high-end internal-combustion vehicles over 3,000 cc will be reduced to 30% over 10 years, but electric vehicles are excluded.
In return, India will see U.S. tariffs on its goods cut to 18% from 50%.
The agreement includes preferential access for Indian auto parts and aims to strengthen bilateral trade, though U.S. auto exports to India remain limited.
