Singapore’s marriage registries return to Canning Rise in 2029 after four-year upgrade, expanding capacity and services.
The Registry of Marriages and Registry of Muslim Marriages in Singapore will return to their original Canning Rise site in 2029 after a four-year redevelopment, expanding the facility by 60% to 3,755 sq m with a two-storey extension, rooftop garden, and heritage-preserving design.
Since April 2025, ceremonies have been held at an interim venue in Esplanade Mall, hosting nearly 6,000 weddings.
The upgrade aims to increase solemnisation capacity and offer marriage preparation programmes, including expanded rebates and free services for lower-income couples.
