NASA astronaut Jessica Meir takes her daughter’s stuffed rabbit to the ISS on the Crew-12 mission, replacing Crew-11, which returned early due to a medical issue.
NASA astronaut Jessica Meir, part of the SpaceX Crew-12 mission, will take a stuffed rabbit belonging to her 3-year-old daughter to the International Space Station during an eight-month stay.
The plush toy, one of two identical ones, will travel with her and the crew—NASA’s Jack Hathaway, ESA’s Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos’s Andrey Fedyaev—launching from Cape Canaveral.
The mission replaces Crew-11, which returned early due to a medical evacuation—the first in ISS history.
The space station, continuously inhabited for 25 years, is set to deorbit into the Pacific Ocean by 2030.
