A man was charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Cheshire on Feb. 7, 2026.

A 58-year-old man from Broughton, Paul Rudd, has been charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was struck by a blue Kia Sportage on Church Road in Dodleston, near Chester, early on February 7, 2026. The 43-year-old victim from Wrexham sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition at Countess of Chester Hospital. Rudd was arrested at the scene, is in police custody, and is scheduled to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on February 9. Cheshire Police continue investigating the incident and are urging witnesses or those with video footage to come forward.
