A man fleeing a tobacco theft was trapped by eight llamas on a Derbyshire farm, leading to his arrest.

A man in his 30s was arrested in South Normanton, Derbyshire, after fleeing a tobacco theft and being cornered by eight llamas on a farm. The animals, known for their alarm calls, surrounded the suspect, alerting landowners Heidi Price and Graham Oliver, who helped detain him until police arrived. No injuries occurred, and authorities credited the llamas’ instinctive behavior with aiding the capture. The llamas, once rescued and trained through a therapy program, are now used for mental health support. The suspect was released on bail.
