Karnataka gets record ₹7,748 crore for rail projects, including bullet trains and new Vande Bharat services.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a record ₹7,748 crore allocation for railway projects in Karnataka, nine times the previous year’s amount, as part of a ₹52,950 crore infrastructure push.
He highlighted progress on station redevelopment, electrification, and the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, with new Vande Bharat services to Mangaluru and a premium train to Mumbai set to launch soon.
Plans for high-speed bullet train corridors to Chennai and Hyderabad were also confirmed, promising travel times of 73 minutes and two hours.
The minister emphasized cooperation on land acquisition and dismissed claims that the budget was merely a "corporation budget," affirming the government’s commitment to rail expansion and inclusive growth.
