On February 8, 2026, a Kansas City police officer shot a 35-year-old woman during a burglary response at 9500 Blue Ridge Blvd around 2:20 a.m. Officers arrived after a report of multiple individuals breaking into a building and storage container. Three suspects fled, with two attempting to enter a vehicle. During a confrontation, an officer fired their weapon, striking the female driver, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized before being released and taken into custody. Two male suspects were arrested at the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the shooting, while the KCPD continues its burglary probe. No officers were injured.
