Norwegian skier Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo won gold in the men’s 20-kilometer skiathlon at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, securing his sixth Olympic gold medal.
Competing in Tesero, Italy, Klaebo finished in 46:11, using a strong final sprint to outpace France’s Mathis Desloges and Norway’s Martin Loewstroem Nyenget.
The event, which alternates classic and freestyle techniques, marked the first time men’s skiathlon was contested at 20 kilometers.
Meanwhile, Norwegian speed skater Sander Eitrem claimed gold in the men’s 5,000 meters, setting a new Olympic record with a time of 6:03.95 at the Milano Speed Skating Stadium, surpassing the previous mark set in Beijing.
