The Jets hired Rex Ryan’s son Seth as offensive passing game coordinator, marking the third Ryan generation with the team.
The New York Jets have hired Seth Ryan, son of former head coach Rex Ryan, as their offensive passing game coordinator, according to sources.
Ryan, 31, spent the past five seasons with the Detroit Lions, most recently as assistant tight ends coach, and previously coached wide receivers.
His hiring marks the third generation of the Ryan family to work with the Jets, following his father Rex and grandfather Buddy, who helped lead the team to Super Bowl III.
The move is part of a broader coaching overhaul under head coach Aaron Glenn, who previously worked with Ryan in Detroit.
The Jets have not officially confirmed the hire.
