India resumes $150M annual glass bottle exports to the U.S. under new trade deal, boosting its industry.
India will resume exporting $150 million worth of high-quality glass bottles to the U.S. annually for perfumes and colognes under a new bilateral trade agreement, ending a halt caused by the lack of a formal deal.
Pradeep Kheruka, Chairman of Borosil Renewables, called the agreement historic and credited diplomatic efforts by U.S. President Trump and Indian Prime Minister Modi.
The revival is expected to boost India’s glass industry, with potential gains from lower U.S. tariffs and increased demand.
Kheruka also noted growing export opportunities with the European Union, where labor shortages may prompt companies to shift production to India to maintain quality and reduce costs.
