India nears €300M deal for SCALP missiles after successful 2025 strikes, expanding Rafale fleet to 200 jets.
India and France are nearing a €300 million deal to purchase SCALP cruise missiles for the Indian Air Force, following their successful use in May 2025 during Operation Sindoor, where they helped destroy terrorist targets in Pakistan.
The missiles, launched from Rafale jets alongside BrahMos missiles, were later used in strikes on 12 Pakistani air bases, destroying high-value assets.
The Indian Air Force plans to integrate SCALP missiles into its Rafale fleet and order additional Meteor air-to-air missiles.
It is also preparing to acquire 114 more Rafale aircraft, with approval pending, bringing the total fleet to around 200 over the next decade.
The Rafale will become the backbone of India’s air defense, with the 26 Rafale Marine fighters for the Navy also set to include the missile system.
