Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is launching free "Biker Down" safety sessions in March 2026 to teach the public how to respond to motorcycle crashes.
The three-hour courses cover scene safety, visibility tips, and hands-on first aid, open to all regardless of riding experience.
Led by fire service staff and volunteers, participants receive a free first aid kit, certificate, and memoir.
Over 140 people have already trained, with two reporting lives saved.
Sessions will be held in Carlisle, Barrow-in-Furness, Workington, Penrith, and the Furness Peninsula, with registration on the service’s website.
