Goldschmidt, who joined the Yankees in 2024 after 14 seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Louis Cardinals, played his first year in the American League in 2025, hitting .274 with 10 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 134 hits.
A 2022 National League MVP and seven-time All-Star, he has 372 career home runs and 1,232 RBIs.
Contract terms were not disclosed, and his role diminished late in the season, with utilityman Ben Rice sharing playing time, including in the postseason.
