Ruto demands opposition present solutions for jobs and economy ahead of 2027 elections, highlighting youth grants and partnerships.
President William Ruto has challenged Kenya’s opposition to present a clear agenda for the 2027 elections, accusing them of focusing only on removing him rather than offering solutions on jobs, the economy, and living costs.
Speaking in Mombasa, he highlighted the NYOTA youth entrepreneurship program, which has distributed Sh139.5 million in grants to 5,880 young people across three counties, with funds delivered via mobile money and savings accounts managed by the National Social Security Fund.
Ruto emphasized the program’s role in promoting long-term economic independence through business training and startup support.
Senior officials, including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, backed the initiative, noting ongoing cooperation between the ruling UDA and opposition ODM on shared goals like universal health and youth empowerment.
Ruto exige que la oposición presente soluciones para el empleo y la economía antes de las elecciones de 2027, destacando las becas y las asociaciones para jóvenes.
