A Philly bar raised its entry age to 25 over fake IDs and underage behavior.
Dirty Franks, a Center City Philadelphia bar, has temporarily raised its entry age to 25 due to a surge in sophisticated fake IDs, including one featuring Ben Franklin’s image and a fabricated address.
Co-owner Jody Sweitzer cited underage drinking, vaping, disruptive behavior, and difficulty detecting advanced forgeries as key reasons.
The change, aimed at protecting the bar’s liquor license and atmosphere, will remain until more reliable ID-scanning technology is acquired.
Some patrons support the move, while others express concern over excluding younger adults.
