The brawl followed an earlier hit on Nikita Kucherov, leading to 147 penalty minutes and ejections of three players and the Panthers' coach.
Douglas, a 6-foot-9 rookie acquired from Utah, has 92 penalty minutes in 29 games, ranking fifth in the league.
The game was the final before the Olympic break.
