Kazakhstan's sunflower oil output rose 17.5% in 2025, boosting exports, especially to Central Asia and the EU.

Kazakhstan's vegetable oil production rose 17.4% in 2025 to 888,800 tonnes, driven by expanded sunflower cultivation, with sunflower oil output reaching 757,200 tonnes, a 17.5% increase. Exports surged 34.6% in the first 11 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, primarily to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan. The country ranks eighth globally in sunflower oil exports and is among the top three suppliers of sunflower meal to the European Union.
