France issued two Lunar New Year stamps for the Horse year, designed by a Chinese-origin artist, to honor the occasion and strengthen Franco-Chinese ties.
France’s La Poste Group released two commemorative stamps on February 6, 2026, for the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Horse.
Featuring stylized horses on yellow with red saddles, one stamp shows a leaping horse for domestic mail at 2.25 euros, the other a calm, turned-head horse for international mail at 1.52 euros.
Designed by Chinese-origin artist Chen Jianghong, the stamps reflect themes of strength, loyalty, and movement, drawing inspiration from French and Chinese art traditions.
They aim to foster cultural dialogue and strengthen Franco-Chinese relations.
This marks the 20th consecutive year France has issued Lunar New Year stamps, each aligned with the zodiac animal of the year.
