A woman in Kerala was allegedly gang-raped at a spa after refusing to pay a "goonda tax," leading to arrests of four suspects.
A spa employee in Thiruvalla, Kerala, was allegedly gang-raped on February 1 after refusing to pay a so-called "goonda tax," police said.
The attack, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. at Luxe Luminery Wellness Spa in Manjadi, involved Subin Alexander, known as "Marana Subin," and three accomplices who entered the spa, threatened the woman with a knife, assaulted her, and recorded the incident.
The group stole ₹25,000 from the spa and extorted ₹2,500 from another staff member.
Subin, a repeat offender with prior criminal cases and a KAPPA Act history, has been arrested, along with two others.
Police are hunting three additional suspects, confirming all six acted in concert.
The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests expected.
