Texas sued Global Fiberglass Solutions over illegal dumping of 3,000 wind turbine parts, violating waste laws since 2017.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued Global Fiberglass Solutions and affiliates over allegations they illegally dumped over 3,000 wind turbine blades and nacelles at two Sweetwater sites, creating unpermitted waste piles totaling about 487,000 cubic yards by March 2025.
The state claims the companies violated solid waste laws by operating without permits or environmental safeguards, failing to properly recycle materials.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, seeks civil penalties of up to $25,000 per day for violations potentially dating to 2017, with damages exceeding $1 million, and demands removal of all waste at a licensed facility within 180 days.
