Pursteam is recalling about 194,400 steamers, including the Elite Travel and Mighty Lil models, due to a burn hazard from unexpected hot water release. The devices, sold from December 2020 to April 2025 on Pursteam.com, Amazon, and Walmart, have specific date codes and were made by Aterian, Inc. The CPSC reports 392 incidents with the Mighty Lil and 80 with the Elite, including 40 and 14 burn injuries respectively. Consumers must stop using the steamers, cut the cord, upload a photo, and request a refund at recall.pursteam.com. Some may return units via prepaid mailer. No injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.
