Two panel members resigned from Enoch Burke’s disciplinary review, delaying his appeal amid ongoing legal challenges over his prison sentence for defying a court order.
Two members of the disciplinary appeals panel reviewing jailed teacher Enoch Burke’s dismissal have resigned, prompting him to call the process a “shambles.” Burke, imprisoned for over 550 days for defying a court order barring him from Wilson’s Hospital School, challenged a 2022 directive requiring him to use a student’s new name and pronouns, citing religious objections.
His legal team argued the resignations may render his injunction request moot, but Burke contested this, seeking a two-week adjournment to assess the changes.
The High Court granted the delay until February 20.
The case remains active, with Burke planning to appeal a prior ruling on the school’s authority, while his full salary continues to be used to cover trespass damages.
