The PGA of America has named Terry Clark, current chief marketing officer at UnitedHealth Group and an independent board director since 2024, as its new CEO, effective March 2026.
Clark succeeds Derek Sprague, who stepped down to focus on family.
The appointment marks the second time in three years the organization selected a CEO from its board.
Clark, who previously led marketing at Optum, a major tournament sponsor, will prioritize organizational clarity, cultural strength, and support for PGA professionals while elevating major championships.
His leadership comes amid leadership turnover, with four C-suite executives departing in the past year.
Kerry Haigh will serve as interim CEO until Clark’s start.
