The project, part of a broader terminal renovation, includes upgraded amenities like charging stations, a sensory room, a children’s play area, a pet relief zone, and the first immersive reality room in a U.S. airport.
The expansion, funded by the city, state, FAA, and $25–30 million in revenue bonds, aims to address rising passenger demand, with traffic growing from 180,000 in 1991 to nearly 600,000 last year.
The TSA checkpoint will also be relocated.
