A man sentenced to 59 months for sex crimes against a 13-year-old, including fathering her child, was arrested in Texas and extradited after violating probation and failing to register as a sex offender.

Jesus Antonio Gutierrez-Guerrero, 28, of Othello, was sentenced to 59 months in prison and 36 months of community custody for crimes related to a 2021 incident involving a minor, including sexual contact with a 13-year-old and later fathering a child with her after she went missing for 18 months. The victim, who gave birth at age 15 in 2023, was found in Moses Lake with suspicious circumstances prompting a renewed investigation. DNA confirmed Gutierrez-Guerrero as the father, and authorities discovered he had violated probation and failed to register as a sex offender. Arrested in Texas in May 2024, he served 18 months in federal prison before being extradited. An outstanding felony warrant remains in Texas. The victim and her child are now healthy and thriving.
