Two Swedish men sentenced to 12–14 years in Denmark for grenade attack near Copenhagen’s Israeli embassy, denying ideology, claiming gang payment.
A Danish court sentenced two Swedish men, aged 18 and 21, to 12 and 14 years in prison for throwing two hand grenades near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen on October 2, 2024.
The attack, which detonated on a residential terrace instead of the embassy, caused no injuries but damaged property.
The men admitted to the act but claimed they were paid by a criminal gang and denied ideological motives.
The court found them guilty of terrorism and attempted murder by a majority verdict, with some dissent.
Both are also facing charges in Sweden over similar attacks on the Israeli embassy in Stockholm.
They plan to appeal and will be deported to Sweden after serving their sentences.
