Taiwan will recreate its 2025 Osaka World Expo Tech World Pavilion for a one-time exhibition during the 2026 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Chiayi County, from March 1 to 15, Premier Cho Jung-tai announced.
The pavilion, which drew nearly 1.2 million visitors and won a bronze award, will be reimagined using projection and digital technologies due to Expo rules requiring dismantling.
It features three zones: Life Theater with kinetic LEDs, Nature Theater with 3D mountain landscapes inspired by Yushan, and Future Theater highlighting Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.
Funded by NT$80 million to NT$90 million in leftover Expo and government funds, the event requires online reservations starting February 5 and has no plans for a permanent installation.
