The Madras High Court has ordered the CB-CID to review CCTV footage from July 27, 2025, along the Tirunelveli-Seevalaperi highway in the Kavin Selvaganesh murder case, following the National Highways Authority of India’s submission of the recordings.
The court’s directive comes amid petitions by the accused’s father and cousin seeking to quash the charge sheet, arguing the prosecution failed to present video evidence despite 20–25 cameras along the route.
They claim the absence of footage showing their movements suggests evidence suppression.
Kavin, a tech worker from a Scheduled Caste, was allegedly killed in an honour killing by his girlfriend’s brother, Surjith, who along with his father, mother, and cousin, have been arrested or suspended.
