The King honored 350 UK frontline workers at a Feb. 4, 2026, reception for their critical community service.
The King hosted a thank-you reception at St James’s Palace on February 4, 2026, honoring 350 key workers from local and regional governments across the UK, including social workers, public health staff, headteachers, disability services coordinators, and those supporting women affected by violence.
Attendees from England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland were recognized for their essential roles in strengthening communities.
Among them was Gavin Sharp, Edinburgh Council’s Ukraine support services manager, who highlighted the city’s efforts since 2022 to assist over 11,500 Ukrainians, with around 3,500 currently residing in Edinburgh, receiving help with resettlement, healthcare, education, and family reunification.
The event, attended by the King, Queen Camilla, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke of Gloucester, underscored the vital contributions of frontline public servants nationwide.
