The rider, Najier Tyrique Haines, was unharmed and taken into custody on charges including dangerous excessive speeding, reckless driving, fleeing to elude law enforcement, and operating an unregistered motorcycle.
Investigators determined the fire resulted from a mechanical malfunction.
The incident occurred under Florida’s “Super Speeder” law, which criminalizes speeds over 100 mph or 50 mph above the limit.
Haines was held on a $20,000 bond.
