Michael Fawthrop left Cornwall council to become North Glengarry’s CAO, praised for infrastructure and sustainability work.
Cornwall council honored Michael Fawthrop, who left his role as general manager of infrastructure and municipal works on January 26, 2026, to become chief administrative officer and clerk for the Township of North Glengarry.
His departure follows his brother Jamie Fawthrop’s prior role in South Glengarry.
Cornwall’s CAO Tim Mills praised Fawthrop for his leadership and contributions to infrastructure and sustainability projects.
Councillor Syd Gardiner’s leave of absence, initially requested in July 2025, was extended until early April.
Council also approved lay appointments to city committees, including Glen Grant, Vincent Foy, and musician Ryan O’Neil, with no public discussion.
