A Lincoln couple is presumed dead after being last seen with two suspects, including James, who confessed to killing them.
On February 2, 2026, Lincoln police announced that missing Stromsburg couple Hannah Neville, 26, and her husband Roberto Tanner, 27, are likely deceased, with two suspects in custody.
Authorities believe they were murdered by Tanner’s half-brother, Sterling James, 24, arrested on two counts of first-degree murder, and his wife, Sayde Titus, 22, charged with aiding and abetting.
The couple was last seen at James’s Lincoln apartment on January 15, with their vehicle later found burned near 39th Street and Cornhusker Highway.
Cell phone data showed they went offline the next day, and investigators obtained a search warrant at a Lancaster County residence where James allegedly confessed to shooting and burying the victims.
James, recently released from parole for a prior felony conviction, remains in custody as the investigation continues to determine motive.
