Kirk Holdrick, a repeat offender, was sentenced to three more years for a 2023 armed break-in attempt at Anya Taylor-Joy’s London home.
Kirk Holdrick, 43, was sentenced to three additional years in prison for attempting to break into a London mansion where actress Anya Taylor-Joy and her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, were staying in February 2023. The armed intruder, along with an accomplice, targeted the couple’s bedroom, prompting McRae to barricade himself and Taylor-Joy inside and confront the suspects with a lamp, shouting he had a gun, which caused them to flee. Holdrick, a career criminal with a prior life sentence, was later arrested and admitted guilt, with prosecutors noting the attack was likely targeted due to the victims’ fame. Nine days later, he was involved in a separate armed home invasion in Sandbanks, impersonating police officers and threatening a woman and her daughter, leading to a 12-year sentence. Holdrick’s DNA and shoe prints were found at the scene, and Taylor-Joy described the experience as traumatic.
