Former Canadian foreign affairs minister John Baird said he was not consulted about Jeffrey Epstein’s inclusion on a 2014 seminar invitation list, despite his name appearing on a document related to the event.
Baird’s office stated the invitations were managed independently by the International Peace Institute, no government approval was sought, and he had no knowledge of Epstein or his 2008 conviction until 2020.

The U.S. Justice Department recently released 3.5 million pages of redacted Epstein-related documents under a law enacted by President Trump.
Baird had no ongoing ties to the institute after leaving office in 2015, and there is no evidence of wrongdoing or foreknowledge of Epstein’s criminal history.
