Drug-related deaths and opioid ER visits dropped in Brantford-Brant in 2025, following a new harm reduction strategy launched in January 2026.
Suspected drug-related deaths in Brantford-Brant fell to 28 per 100,000 in 2025, the lowest since 2018, and opioid-related ER visits dropped to 106 per 100,000, according to Grand Erie Public Health.
While both rates remain above provincial averages, the decline follows the launch of the Brantford-Brant Community Drugs Strategy Action Plan in January 2026, which expands harm reduction services, naloxone access, youth treatment, and unregulated drug monitoring.
