A 14-year-old Connecticut middle school student, Eniola Taiwo, nominated the Los Angeles Fire Department for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after being inspired by a social studies assignment.
Her letter to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce led to the LAFD being honored with a star in December 2025 for their bravery during the 2025 wildfires.
Taiwo attended the ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard, where she rode in a vintage fire truck, held the star, and spoke with the press, expressing pride in recognizing the firefighters’ service from afar.
The event was widely covered, including on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and celebrated the LAFD’s critical role in protecting lives and property during the crisis.
