A 46-year-old Cincinnati woman, Ishwanzya Rivers, has pleaded guilty to stealing over $158,000 from four elderly or ill veterans she was entrusted to manage financially.
She admitted to taking more than $135,000 from a dying veteran at the Cincinnati VA hospital between June 2021 and November 2022, using the funds for personal expenses including shopping, dining, and international travel to destinations like London, Cancun, and the Maldives.
She also stole over $23,000 from three other veterans.
The federal charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
A sentencing date has not yet been set.
