Belgium’s Prince Laurent confirmed meeting Jeffrey Epstein twice in the 1990s and 2000s, both private encounters initiated by Epstein, but denied attending any events with him or his associates.
He said he rejected Epstein’s requests to connect with his parents and a 2012 Paris dinner involving a head of state, citing disinterest in wealth displays.
The remarks come after the U.S. DOJ released over 3 million pages of Epstein-related documents, sparking renewed scrutiny of high-profile figures linked to the financier.
Epstein, who died in custody in 2019, was convicted of sex trafficking.
Laurent stated he had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes at the time and emphasized he was never accused of wrongdoing.
