Moncada played in 84 games during the 2025 season, hitting .234 with 12 home runs and 35 RBIs, missing time due to a thumb and knee injury. He was acquired to replace Anthony Rendon, whose contract was bought out in December. Over his 10-year career, Moncada has a .252 batting average, 105 home runs, and 374 RBIs in 831 games, with his best season in 2019. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-hander Cody Laweryson was designated for assignment.
