The Chicago White Sox acquired veteran right-handed pitcher Jordan Hicks and prospect David Sandlin from the Boston Red Sox on February 2, 2026, in exchange for pitcher Gage Ziehl and a player to be named.
The Red Sox will cover $8 million of Hicks’s $25 million salary over the next two seasons.
Hicks, 29, has a 17-35 record and 4.41 ERA in 275 MLB games with the Cardinals, Blue Jays, and Giants, and previously missed time due to injury.
Sandlin, 24, posted a 13-12 record with a 4.69 ERA in 232 minor league innings in 2025.
Ziehl, 22, had a 2-2 record and 4.01 ERA in six starts for the White Sox’s High-A affiliate.
