Two Russians arrested in Bangkok over murder of Russian man in Pattaya, linked to debt dispute.
Two Russian men, Iaroslav Demidov, 35, and Dmitrii Maskalev, 38, were arrested in Bangkok over the murder and dismemberment of 30-year-old Mikhail Emelianov, a Russian man whose body parts were found near Pattaya, Thailand.
Police linked them to the crime through CCTV footage, digital threats demanding repayment of a large debt, and burial sites where body parts and personal items were discovered.
Emelianov, who ran a cannabis-related business, was last seen in early January.
His mother confirmed he had received threatening messages.
Investigators believe the killing stemmed from a debt dispute, possibly tied to drug activity.
The case remains under investigation.
