Starting April 1, 2026, the NHS in England will expand its RSV vaccination programme to include all adults aged 80 and over, as well as care home residents, building on the existing rollout to those aged 75 to 79.
The vaccine, which protects against severe respiratory illness, can be given alongside the spring 2026 COVID-19 vaccine.
It is recommended for high-risk groups, including older adults and pregnant women from 28 weeks, and offers protection for at least two years.
Health officials stress the importance of vaccination in reducing hospitalizations and easing winter pressures on the NHS.
