Qantas has launched its new Airbus A220-300 on the Brisbane to Wellington route, marking the aircraft’s first international flights.
The plane, which is 25% more fuel-efficient and half as noisy as older models, seats 137 passengers and offers larger windows, free fast Wi-Fi, and improved cabin comfort.
The service, operated by QantasLink up to three times weekly, replaces older aircraft and reduces environmental impact.
The rollout follows Qantas’ broader fleet renewal, including plans to expand its Brisbane-to-Honiara route to five weekly flights starting March 29, 2026.
